Nemesis is fine as a ship name, but not as the name of a class of ship.
I'd thought of Virago for your Viper.

Yeah, I see your point, well, I'll keep on reading, maybe we should just call it the "Cobra Elite".
I will keep the name Virago in mind for a future creation, but the Viper Raider is too much of a kitbash to give it such a resounding name.

Sounds about right to me too. I'll count on you for the specs Gimi ? if that's okay with you. I'm always having trouble of what to put in a ship in the ways of gameplay balance.

Well, I could give it as a playtesting thingy to you since it's not a burden and will keep you off the siggies, and you could tweak the specs to make em more balanced ?

As my previous suggestion went uncommented I will also offer up: Pallida
Reason: Naja pallida is the alternative name for the Red Spitting Cobra
Or taking that name and mixing it up a bit - you could have Paladin

Yeah, sorry bout not commenting on the latin name... I found it a bit too... far fetched., But Paladin sounds good.
It reminds me of that senator from the Wing Commander games (III and IV) IIRC. Don't remember his real name, a scotsman I think.

In the Dark Wheel novella, in chapter Five, the Cobra that he stole with the help of Rafe and Elyssia from Starpilot Fleisher's mausoleum was called the 'Nemesis'. Sounds like a good candidate for starters.

Anoter one is Cobra Virago. Something not out of the novella, but a fitting name IMHO.
The fact that it was stolen from TOGY fits in with this being an early version (possibly prototype) of the ship. Agree with EV, Cobra Nemesis as a class does not fit into my Ooniverse. I would use something like
Cobra Rex Regum (King of Kings) or Cobra Caesar as a play on King Cobra and the "fact" that, as a Prototype, they would want to show it off.
