Hah, I've just noticed that I said "northwest". Should be "northeast!" Shows how good I am with a compass...

Just in case it makes you feel any better: East/West dyslexia is an incredibly common occurrence, even among, or should I say especially among, sailors.

Even Columbus ended up in the Caribbean while heading for Indonesia. :P

Status update:

I did over 200 minor updates and a good hundred changes today, just for fixing things my program did correctly wrong (i.e. it had two bugs and produced accordingly bad results).

Additionally, I added the systems modified by the Ionics OXP.

And I added the Takla Makan 'region'.

Todo:

I'm not yet finished, there are some links to be done, but I ran out of time today, and will continue tomorrow.

Additionally, I got the permission to use the pictures from "Famous Planets", whcih will follow soon.

A few references from "Kaxgar" will follow, too.

Yours, Christian Treczoks

Hi Treczoks. In the map topic there is I believe some history about some routes in the Vector map topic.

for example the explanation of the name 'Erlage Corridor':

Any slaves bought on Anvere, being fat yellow insects, are delicacies on Erlage, planet of fat birds. This witchspace trading route is often called the "Er-large corridor".

Ah, great. I was wondering where the name "Butchers Row" originated.
Following your advice, I digested the first pages of this rather long discussion and extracted some 'facts': Regions and Routes

If someone could check my writeups I'd be glad, as I'm no native speaker.

Of course, there are more pieces of information out there. Keep helping me to find them!

Yours, Christian

Sorry more ideas. It could be handy to include the Feudal states.oxp. Now I always have to look them up in the pdf manual. You could also use Ramirez to use his house symbols.

Sorry, I haven't done the planet images yet. But they are still on the list. Currently, I'm fixing a lot of minor stuff to get a good idea what to change in the software before starting Galaxy Sector 3.

Never be sorry about more ideas - The more, the merrier!

I think I looked into this Feudal States OXP before, but I downloaded ist again, but I cannot find anything in the source that would alter a system. There are ships and "hunting lodges", missions, and a ranking system, but I have not yet found anything about systems. On the other hand, I have not yet found why the OXP should be limited to Galaxy Sectors 1-3 and 5, so there may still be something in the code that I haven't found yet.

If this Ramirez is still around, I'll contact him.

Yours, Christian

Excellent work, If you require any more detailed write ups then just PM me.

I dream of a flash application where this information is married to the vector maps in the "Space Captains guide do the Ooniverse".

Regarding Feudal States: The systems aren't altered as such. The highest tech level feudal states in galaxies 1, 2, 3, 5 are designated feudal home worlds, each with their own royal house and court. Only in those specific systems is a hunting lodge added, along with ships from the various houses. And if you make planetfall there you gain access to the royal court. It doesn't apply to Galaxy 4 simply because there are no feudal state systems there, and Ramirez hasn't done anything for the other galaxies. There's a .pdf that gives a bit of background info somewhere (can''t remember offhand - probably downloadable from the same place the oxp is).

G4 is an odd one... only four gov types, I think: anarchy, communist, democracy and multi-gov... strange.

I'm looking forward to writing the Snoopers news flashes for G4 when I get there...

Yep! If you're interested in a brawl, there be plenty of Anarchy systems about! I became quite a regular at the Space bars... And rather peeved when my injectors got damaged in a fight!
