You need to be careful with shadows, as they are essentially links or shortcuts. If you go into them and delete, then you're deleting the thread they link to.

You should have options available to you to "moderate this forum" or something similar (as this board isn't set up quite the same as my reference one I can't say exactly what it'll be called, and of course I don't have access to those options here) where you can see and perform actions on the thread level (so you can see all the threads in the given forum). If you do the delete of the shadow at that level then you can get rid of it without affecting the thread it links to.

Always fun when you get shiny new moderator powers, or a shiny new board structure to use them in, isn't it... ;) My suggestion would be to create your own test thread/shadow of it and play on that one first, so if you mess up nothing is really lost.

In a PM A_C has noted that shadowing is a good thing - so I'm going to leave well alone (as I didn't see an option to remove shadowing) - so you're right I could create my own thread and play, but I'm not going to, I'm going to stop meddling and stick to sword sharpening!

Sorry about posting a topic in the wrong place,

In my own language there is a saying,

A crazy person throws a stone in a well, and forthy clever man tries to pull the stone from the well :D

But I have got another question, how do I edit a message I posted?

Hi Okti... use the edit button at the bottom right of your post, alter what you want, and submit.

We are all sorry for derailing your thread, and not at any point addressing your problem.

So, let me ask, does your problem persist? Or has it sorted itself out?

Hi

The only problem I am experiencing is, when I am logged in to BB if I change to another Post and try to post a reply Logging status changes and I am forced to log again. The frustrating thing is I usually lose the message text which I spend some time on it. Any Idea?

Okti
The bug is still present. The main bug is that the "Last visit" time you see at the top left is sometimes reset. I don't know why. Yesterday it showed constant 15 jan 2011 (the correct time and date). It stayed that way during some log-on/off I made. Today it reads 14 jan 2011, so for some reason it was set back.

Because the BB thinks you have been logged in for so long it automatically logs you out. The only current fix I found yesterday is to check the checkbox "stay logged in" that you see before logging in.

Loosing your typed messages is also frustrating. Up until now I always managed to get the text back by jumping a few pages back in the cache of the browser, copy my old text and jump back to the last page and paste the text there. It works with Safari and I assume it should work in firefox.

Please report BB bugs to the phpbb team. No-one here is going to do anything about them.
