You see I have a cultivated tash & a beard which puts me firmly in no-mans land between BLF and the Handlebar Club.

To be honest neither of them "get it"; the mere act of sprouting is an act of defiance in this day and age. You get a human activity that is within the bounds of most men sheerly through inaction, and what happens?

Suddenly the length and placing becomes an issue! I don't care if your spiv, zz top or any shade of The Master in between! Quite frankly the whole lot of them are acting like a bunch of clean shaven children. Sorry, they all really annoy me they really do.

My 'Human persona' also features face-fungus, and has done for many years. These days it's a short goatee and 'tache but there was a time many years ago when both the beard and my hair were down to mid-chest level

Ditto… except that now I wear a full beard trimmed short (as is the hair).
