Use the autopackage Luke Smivs! :)

That way you shouldn't have any problems parsing plists. Unfortunately some xml plists cannot be read by the 1.19 plist parser.

The autopackage provides its own non-broken parser, though! ;)

Thanks, I'll give it a go. Downloaded but as it's late I'll install tomorrow.

Commander Smivs is back! :D
I went for the autopackage and all is now well.
Many thanks to everyone for the help and advice. More proof, were it needed, that this is the friendliest (and most helpful) Board this side of Riedquat.
