Why "too hasty"? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to locate
and destroy the stolen Leviathan. So you did it right the first time (and you only got your rewad because you did it right).

After Leviathan destruction I met a couple of stolen ships again. I thought they all was eliminated.
I found in missiontext.plist:
Code: Select all
<key>mission_military_desc1</key>
<string>Seek and destroy stolen Military ships. Locate hijacked Leviathan.</string>
<key>mission_military_desc2</key>
<string>Locate the hijacked Leviathan.</string>
<key>mission_military_desc3</key>
<string>Consider helping the Military.</string>
<key>mission_military_desc4</key>
<string>Report the hijacked Leviathan destruction.</string>

When you got the 100 kg of gold (roughly 4000 credits ion value) the mission is over. But the stolen ships also have a pirate role so they also keep popping up after the mission. (But at a much lower rate).
After killing a certain amount of them, there will be a new contact by the navy to kill an even stronger stolen Leviatan. The one you killed had the strength given by Murgh. For the next one... I don't know if you want to accept that mission

Well I'm on Military Fiasco, and after reading this thread I tried taking out the Leviathan and its military Hydras/Basilisks/Rattlecutter escorts that just seems to be popping up everywhere (purple dots). They barely fought back, and after wiping them out and docking, I didn't get a reward so I guess it wasn't them. I also didn't get fugitive status. A few dockings later I got another "you've killed 6 more stolen ships since last time, good work, keep it up" from Military Fiasco.

While I was intending to copy (aka steal
) the Leviathan and the escorts I recognized that this OXP actually belong to the oolite team. Is there any generous member in charge who could give me the permit to use this ships without dependency to the mission ? This ships would fit nicely to Behemoths and Condors.

I think the only thing that links this OXP to the Oolite dev team is the copyright entry in the JS files, which reads
Code: Select all
this.copyright = " 2008 the Oolite team.";
I think this is purely a copy/paste issue, or the fact that Eric Walsh did the JS conversion of the original scripts, and he had a template he used for all script files.
The key item is in the manifest.plist file which says
Code: Select all
<key>licence</key>
<string>CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0</string>
So I believe you're good to go! You may take the parts you want, as long as you release under CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0 and show accreditation.

Thank you once again, I admit that I didn't check the manifest.plist but stopped when I saw the copyright.

I've been stepping on Rattlers, staring down Basilisks, and holding a torch to the severed necks of Hydras for months, but after half a dozen "Press Space..." experiences with the Leviathan, I'd given up on trying to destroy it. Te two obvious big weapons didn't do the job, leaving me perplexed. I'm going to have to try some other strategies for de-Leviathaning the Ooniverse.
I get the feeling that this is going to involve some more "Press Space .." moments.
