Epic Thargoid is Epic.
Nice one :) Looking forwards to hanging a few of your new inventions... I am a regular customer for your lawgiver and interceptor missiles.
Well, anyone bounty hunting in a bulk freighter needs all the help they can get eh? :D
Commander Monty, a Python Class Cruiser driver :D
Iron assed bulk haulers for the win!

Of the two trumbles which escaped today from Lave station, only 473 have been located....

I tend to use the interceptor missiles as an anti-hardhead-missile system!

Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge. 8)
Thanks to Gimi, I got an eBook in my inbox tonight (31st May 2014 - Release of Elite Reclamation)!

does it have to be pylon mounted?
the e-bomb was a prized add-on with the BBCmicro, because there wasn't really anything else - a bit like the difference between a steam locomotive (agricultural variety) and a modern tractor
the 19th century vehicle had bells and whistles, but nothing else
the 21st century vehicle has more trick devices installed than you could sneeze at - but no bell
there aren't that many pylon mounts available on most ships so an inboard mounted one-shot device (whatever it is) = rather handy
..better than 16 cascade missiles & infinite carnage

(as might be delivered by some oxp ships that weren't available on the BBC either)

P.S. I'm not aware of any such ship, it's just a dreamed up example

It does it if you want to be able to trigger it yourself, as only pylon mounted weaponry can respond to key presses (as OXPs can't define their own keys or intercept key presses).

And no, I'm not writing an auto E-bomb ;)

:!: why would anybody want an automatic ebomb?

and now I think about it the oxp energy eqpt. (the non-pylon mounted stuff) seemed to be auto-deploying, so I see your point

chaff dispenser, rock hermit location etc., all not pylon mounted, but do require bits on pylons to work...

(thinking aloud here, I'd better submit quick)

There are two items in the Energy Equipment, one that auto-triggers when you get to low energy, and the other that's pylon mounted and needs to be triggered.

At the moment using a pylon is the only convenient way for equipment to be player-triggered.

As for the auto-ebomb, I thought I ought to immediately state the position as I'd de-facto mentioned such a concept.
