You have correctly identified the ship from the Historical Archives...

Wow, cool!
Now something easy on the quote-department:
"Ahh, arrogance and stupidity all in the same package. How efficient of you."
Which title = book / film / TV-Show (& episode) ?
Who?
To whom?

Thats ANOTHER one that nagged and nagged at me... it was in a corner of my mind somewhere... I just logged off a few minutes ago, and in the middle of making coffee, there it was! (most of it).Zieman wrote:Wow, cool!

Londo Molari; Babylon 5: In the Beginning. I remembered that part.
What i had to look up (I used IMDB COM to find out "to whom"):
General Lefcourt: We took care of the Dilgar, we can take care of the Minbari.
Londo Mollari: Ah, arrogance and stupidity all in the same package. How efficient of you.
I don't know about the book.
SciFi channel was airing the BAB5 series (over and over again) a few years ago... I wish they would do it again.
===== =====
I am NOT sure about the exact wording of this quote - I tried to look it up, but couldn't find it, so this is from memory:
(from the movie adaptation):
"Look daddy (or mummy) it's a fireman! There is going to be a fire!"
(hint)(the sections of the book by R.B.):
The Hearth and the Salamander
The Sieve and the Sand
Burning Bright
(this should be fairly easy)
(Obscure hint - NOT from the book of course, but this little poem points to clues):
When the number of trumbles reached four-fifty and one,
I hit the burners and visited the sun.
They chittered, the trumbles, inside their cages...
... I reached for a book, but flames took the pages!

Sword, thy name is Cobra. And Cobra has fangs!
Entirely correct.
the "book / film / TV-Show (& episode)" -part was there to confuse a bit, so AFAIK no book, just the feature film "Babylon 5: In the Beginning".

(comment) I have a *really hard challenge* planned, for when it is my turn again next (after the above clue that I gave), and depending on if I log in and can get an open clue... only an Iron Ass HardCore SciFi aficionado would get it. Its is just a book, for now, but a movie is planned. To help, I give plenty of clues.

Gee... it didn't SEEM like the forum was being turned into a quiz book.
It is just one thread.
One thread out of 11 sections on the board.
And the title of the thread very much indicated what type of thread it was. So two reasons might lead someone to post in it.
One reason would be to participate... which no one has to do if they don't want to.

If one thread in the off-topic section does that, then YES! WE HAVE TO!Selezen wrote:Do we have to turn the forum into a quiz book? there are plenty of trivia and quiz sites out there already...
Plus, it's no fun when people can go look up the answers on the internet...
Sheesh...

The thread should be light hearted and informative. A kind of "I didn't know that!" sort of a thread. If possible don't "cheat". If a clue has been dangling there, alone, neglected and unanswered for a long time, then if you have to you can cheat a little to make it feel better.
Also you can get as creative as you want with hints. In the most previous clue, I deposited a poem ... I just kind of thought it up (though I used to dabble in poetry, at least that little rhyme has rhythm). That verse has powerful clues that point to the answer.
(EDIT): Also, the NATURE of the departure of the past few posts has a CONNECTION to the answer of the last clue - the fundamental issue in the book by R.B. and the movie adaptation.

I always thought the original limit was NINE regenerations - but this really is from memory so I could well be wrong.ramon wrote:Fahrenheit 451
According to the first Doctor, how many regenerations is he limited to?

The first Doctor, Doctor with a capital 'D' - that must be Doctor Who, right?
If I recall this right (no, this time I won't Google) the Doctor was portrayed by five different actors, so I guess: 5.
