Ok, it turns out Ian 'has heard' of Oolite already: at the moment he's somewhere in galaxy 7 helping out the assassin's guild and having a jolly good time with it.

As far as badges go: he rightly pointed out that selling Elite badges would infringe on Frontier Developments' copyright / trademark.

However, all is not lost: he's pretty much available if we want bages with our very own design - hmm, time to have another look at the icon competition:

As to a Oolite badge proper, it can certainly be done. About the same size as the one on my site can be cast and I'd reckon £2 to £2.50 tops each.
I'm definitely getting a tenner worth, I might even stretch to a pony! :)

Third bird from the left, wasn't it.

I presume that's 'twenty-five quid' and not 'rhyming slang'.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

The second from the left!

& yep: I meant I might well be purchasing 25 pounds sterling's worth of Oolite badges, once we've decided what the new Oolite icon is going to look like! :)

ClymAngus, I do think Oolite is a perfectly good superlative already, but thanks for the suggestions! :P
