I also saw two at once. I dropped a q-mine on one and shot the engines on the other and scooped the passengers to be sold as slaves. Still I didn't get a speck on my legal status. Clean as a whistle.
Did it survive the intial Q-bomb blast?
As test I nuked it and Q-bombed it. I turned down the max energy otherwise it was to though.

Ha ha you criminal: Selling the passengers

I may have emptied the military laser on it a couple of times first, don't quite remember. It took quite a while for it to ignite. It may have been a secondary blast from a smaller ship that made it explode.

Spreads hands and says with a hoarse godfather voice: Well, what could I do? Their insurance companies didn't pay.

Thought you had to be rich to travel on the Aurora? Then they should be able to afford insurance?

Maybe the next version of Aurora needs some tweaking....?

My guess is that the "over-population" is due to the bigShips OXP. In some systems with large populations and suitable other parameters it can lead to up to 4 or 5 big trader ships being added to the system. One such ship to use that role is the Aurora, so if it's the only bigTrader ship you have installed you'll end up with a bunch of them.

If you want to tone it down then add a lower weight to the bigTrader role in the shipdata.plist of the aurora (say bigTrader(0.25) or something), or install some other big ships like those in transports or aquatics.

Perhaps the insurance won't pay out if the ship isn't destroyed. I only damaged that Aurora and its captain panicked, sending all the passengers out in excape pods.

I don't really mind, just a little surprised as I'd read that they were supposed to be very rare and every other time I enter a wealthy system there are several of these.

That won’t make any difference at all if it’s the only bigTrader available, though.

Ahruman is right. Sorry it is rare when you install about every other bigtrader there is. I've got them all and then they are a lot rarer.

If its the only bigtrader you've got then you could end up with many ships in one system. Originally I wanted to do 100 unique ships each with unique names. But don't know how I can do that and tbh I don't find much fun in scripting. others do. I like making textures. I've not mastered shading by myself. I'm already glad that this ship is flying. But if others want to improve it go ahead.

Keep getting the box.net login page when I try to access the file through the link on the Wiki. Is the link broken?

Thanx to Thargoid I found the cause of Auroa's not spawning at all.
So I made a bugfix release.

Visit my OXP site at:

http://www.snabbtorkande.com/pagrooveOXP/index.html

and click on Aurora or download from the following link:

I also updated the Wiki.
