True, true... It was far too 'shiny' for TV execs, who, from memory, showed the 2nd episode first, put the show on after a sport's match and if the match got extended firefly got pushed back or not shown at all - and then the TV execs looked at the viewing figures and declared that viewing figures were low and too variable for the show to continue - a self fulfilling prophecy if ever there was one!Killer Wolf wrote:whole series was excellent. superb actors & actresses, great effects, cool plots and sharp dialogue, noel concept adn fantastic design work. no wonder they cancelled it

Angel got canned earlier than planned (by Whedon) and I've just discovered, even though it got a 2nd series in the US - JWs latest project Dollhouse has also been canned too.
edit - name fix

I'm not one of Capitalism's big detractors, but it can certainly put a big spanner in the creative process....
Players also got canned after only one series (why has nobody replied to my Players thread? [/unloved]
Although as you mention that another Whedon project got canned, perhaps his star is on the wane in tinseltown?

DH ~ i think Doll House got a resurrection? not sure but i'm sure it was pulled from the fire. to be honest, i watched 3 episodes and gave up. it had none of JW's touches at all, i found it very disappointing. talk on the messages boards said it began pulling together but by then it was too late for me.
i dunno, something tells me i mebbes shoulda stuck w/ it a bit longer :

Quick! Create a tall gif with empty space under the crossbones. Mind you, this could be a repositioning minefield!
