I just got me the official Tianve "Got Pulsar?" T-shirt. So now I can go about saying "Yeah, been there, done that, got the t-shirt" :P
I just could not resist, and I hope you don't mind:
A Kind of a Certificate of Origin...

pagroove,

I'd be quite interested in rolling up Tianve.OXP into a future release of famous planets. Seems the ideal place to put it to be honest. Perhaps we could collaborate on an integration and add the 'souvenir' equipment item at the same time?

Promise not to make a big deal out of the licensing... 8)

Cheers,

Drew.

I'm no specialist on OXPs, but is is possible to add an image on top of a ships texture?
Like, adding a "sticker" to the ships hull?

Yep! They'd be the decals Griff & Simon B talked about quite recently! If you've got a picture already, it should be almost painless to add that as a decal to the ship. It'll have to be monochrome, though...

This is now a work in progress thanks to Commander McLane. I shall publish Tianve 1.3 in due course! 8)

The Tianve momento will be a piece of a equipment you can buy (only available from the pulsar station), which will show up as a 'completed mission' on your F5 screen.

Cheers,

Drew.

:P :P It could get crowded on that F5 screen. Maybe that momento sticker should disappear on buying a new ship or making a galactic jump?

Can't wait.

I can promise you that it won't be only the sticker. There is major code-reworking in progress. Just sent Drew a couple of bugfixes and suggestions. :D

Am I wrong in thinking that you could get the pulsar to er... pulsate better using shaders & one of Ahruman's planet models?

I guess you are right. If Griff wants to come aboard... :)

(But of course that's Drew's call to make.)

If griff is up for it - coolio. Can I get v1.3 done first though?!!! Blinking scope creep!

Cheers,

Drew.

That would be nice. How about:
Visible rays emerging from the hot spots of the pulsar?
Being hit by such a ray means "get fried fast"?
Gravity effect of the Pulsar?
The "Monitoring Station" sending one-way "Monitoring Drones" to the pulsar?
And finally:
Less tourist cruisers. They are the funstoppers (and jumpstoppers) when flying around in Tianve. Reduced billboard count wouldn't hurt, either.
Whenever I leave Tianve station and my radar is cluttered with yellow dots, and one has to be careful to avoid the billboards - well, it is a bit much there. Somehow, I am quite often tempted to hit the TAB key...

Yours, Christian

1. Rays - not possible as far as I'm aware
2. Ditto. Atleast until there's an alternative way to model a small planet/moon
3. Gravity - No gravity in the game at present
4. Might be possible. Would need to create them and I can't do the modelling bits!
5. Less cruisers - In v1.2 there are 24 liners moving at present, with 6 loading near the station. There are a total of 12 adboards. I deliberately made it this way to give the impression of an extremely busy tourist system. Feel free to remove them if you wish (config.plist in the oxp), but if anything the 'official' Tianve will become more busy as it is developed, quite deliberately. Navigating near the station is problematic due to the traffic density.

I had the idea of a tourist spot being overwhelmed by demand like any 'attraction' nowadays, just be thankful you don't have to queue! Just make sure your ship has fuel injectors!

Cheers,

Drew.
