Yes, I think CLASS_MISSILE and CLASS_MINE can be assigned to anything, regardless of the role in shipdata. I've been using both to help differentiate objects on the scanner, e.g. showing frag particles as dangerous blue blobs rather than harmless white ones which would be the default.
