There's always trading sideways, or sort of down-and-to-the-left, if you download the
M-Pack Rusties OXP. Swap your shiny new Cobra III for a slightly used Python and take advantage of that big old cargo bay.

Good piracy idea... float between the mothership and its escorts, preferably right up behind the trade ship, then blow up the mothership, scoop some loot, and fly away on injectors before the escorts can get you.

How many people are going to sell their IC to buy something else? what else is out there better than an IC, for the purposes of what an IC does?
As an all rounder, almost nothing. But there are better vessels for trading and for combat.
Plus not everyone likes all rounders, not everyone likes the look of the IC.

Saw them too upclose too many times in EF/eff.
The AI flew them like it flew the more nimble fighters and just plowed right through you if you weren't carefull.
Nice battleships to have though, nearly indestructable and a huge enginehold for all sorts of toys.

The IC is awfully nimble... roll on the navy is 3.5, right?
Then again it only has 1.0 pitch which might make up for it, but that's pretty good for a ship its size.
But as a general description, cobra 3 is to IC as go kart is to ferrari... same design (except for the canonical ramjets) but different power.

I prefer my Wolf MkII SE or the neolite Fer-De-Lance. Both are faster than the Imp Courier and while the Wolf MKII SE is a tough little bastard thats hard to hit, the Fer-De-Lance is decidedly nimble and has quite a quirky profile.
Next stop will be a Caduceus.

recently I've been seeing T-shirts with a fer-de-lance as a brand label.

Nah. I looked via google-imagesearch, but no hits.
I'll accost the next person I see wearing one to ask for the label name.
Hi Kaks.

You'd really rather be flying a ferdy than a IC?

I like the neolite Fer-De-Lance, it is an extremely good looking ship (a testament to Simon B's skill when it comes to re-imagining ships), that handles really well, thanks to rebalancing in neolite.
I've had more trouble with those ships than I have with any IC, they're a real bounty hunters craft.

Iguanas can be mean devils as well. Fast, agile, tough for their size, and those twin lasers. Unfortunately the player Iguana can't have the dual laser mounts.
So a good choice, a Caduceus. And for a simply massive hold with simply massive firepower, a Kirin.
