@Frame - great minds think alike eh!
<blog post>
After a load of false starts, i've started making a few bits of space junk, these are probably going to be the bigger pieces that float around for scooping rather than the smaller bits that fly off and vanish after a short while - i'm keeping the textures fairly 'generic metal' so they can be shared with a lot of different pieces, i'm putting the glow & clip maps into various channels trying to cut down the amount of images needed. I don't know if anyone has already seen Ahrumans glowing alloys shader in action before - but the glowing bits you see here gradually fade over time - it looks really great! and Thargoid has whipped up a great oxp ready for me to dump the models & textures into!

That's fantastic!!!!
Are the edges really that rough/jagged or is that just a clever texturing technique?

yeah, they are all crinkly like that, you can use a texture map to nibble away at the polygon using the 'discard' command in the shader.

That Excellent with a capital E!
Now what's to do with the fridge door...?
Maybe it could be an airlock door

Perhaps even an actual fridge door. You'd think a ship's galley would have some place to keep cold rations....like a fridge.

The exploding OXP is quite theraputically addictive I must admit, and that's even before all of the lovely graphical bits have been added in

I vote for a set of fridge magnets and a shopping list attached to it......

Can't imagine that varying too much between species

"Capn H" don't use seats, no self respecting feline would lower themselves to do that.

On a serious note. WOW Griff excels himself again...
Where can we d/l this new oxp from?

That's a fair point but...

Oh dear, seeing the kiddie drawing on it as it floats through space might be a bit hard for me....
