the big wings can easily hit the bottom of the dock during landing.
So, what happens then? :)
Up to Oolite 1.77 this mean knock-knock and some reduction in shields, but since 1.80 mean BOOM and press space as reported. Fortunately main stations has larger dock since 1.80 but landing in any OXP stations which still use the original smaller dock give big challenges with this ship.

8) Perfectly said.

Another good reason to fly a smaller ship or at least a ship with not such a large front/rear profile. Cobra 3 (width) at a rock hermit is also dangerous.
I don't suppose the behaviour is intentional though ?

Is it? In that case, I'll have to stop docking on Torus!

I have blown up once IIRC. That's enough. Harmless (0) at Lave!
4 metres free on each side according to the wiki. More than with the heighth and a Boa cruiser at a main dock still.

I gathered these dock sizes once:
In Oolite 1.77 (W x H x L):
Main stations: 192.000 x 64.000 x 250.000
Rock-hermit: 138.001 x 138.001 x 250.120

Since 1.79:
cori: 241.888 x 103.412 x 250.000
dodo: 210.362 x 81.027 x 250.000
ico: 238.546 x 82.108 x 273.278
rock: 194.688 x 108.567 (64.8m at sides) x 253.500

The width of a Cobra3 is 130m so you have 4m in old hermits, but new rocks leave 32m for docking on Torus. ;)
