Does the app open, then close with no error? Do you ever see the opening screen?

Have you tried clearing Oolite's cache by opening the app while holding SHIFT until the opening screen appears?

What video driver and card are you using? Are you overclocking either?

You can always download WINDBG, install the debugger and attach it to the executable.... Won't fix the issue, but it'll give a LOT of info for us to plow through....

I don't think he's overclocking.

Overclockers are generally proficient technicians, and have large arsenals of diagnostic tools on hand. They get zilch support from the makers of the device(s) they're overclocking, after all; they have to know how to fix it if they break it.

If he was a overclocker, he would've had this glitch fixed already, or at least come close to finding out the cause on his own.

Sorry to read you're having problems starting the game bdug, are you definately starting oolite using the RunOolite.bat shortcut the game made for you when it finished installing or are you trying to run the oolite.exe file directly?

..

try version 1.65 in a new install directory ( oolite165 or similar ).

architecture difference means it might work for you.

if it does .. you'll have something to do .. and the programmers another clue.

Glad to hear it's working again.

As is often the case with Windows and especially Vista (IME) - The OS gets blamed, but it's really the 3rd party HW drivers that are the culprits.
