My only concern about daily or weekly snapshots is version control. It won't be long before various different versions of executables start circulating, resulting in possibly bogus bug reports (e.g. executables run with the wrong datafiles) and general confusion. This can still happen obviously, since the source is open, but at least we don't have to support home made builds not originating from the official sites.

On the plus side, weekly snapshots means more people testing, which can lead to quicker development. Not sure how easy it can be to set up an automated build system for Windows, though.

I would suggest adding the SVN revision to the version number for snapshot builds, that way any bug reports would automatically pinpoint the exact source code without any additional work required on the part of the bug reporter.

We could also put a great big "SNAPSHOT BUILD" superimposed on the demo screen just to drive home the fact that it's not a properly tested build and that errors are to be expected.
