Probably add a color-property to the sun object class?
And is this possbile?

A disc with colours is better. Then we could make also red starts etc.

Urgh. You people have no taste. :-)

(There’s also a technical issue: the sun really is drawn as a disc, in order to simplify rendering. Texturing would require a sphere, which would increase load on low-end systems.)
An ugly disc. But is it technically possible for higer end systems to do a 3D sun or via an OXP Ahruman?
I suppose you could move the sun very far away, put a custom planet in its place. however you cant make a corona, not even with a flasher, since these would explode the second the code detected they where inside the planets radius..

Another solution, spawn multiple flashers all around the surface the planet... but i bet the corona would look uneven, and the perfermance hit would be significant... however with abit of creative java scripting and time consuming, you could make sort a solar flares... with this method..

However did we have an entity proberty that said "invulnarble", or "ghost", that would turn of standard colliding checking and altitude/heat checks... it would be much simpler with a single flasher if a flasher can be that large...

Edit: not to mention that fuel scoops would not work, however, if you made the planet a little larger than the sun, you could use above mentioned method.. and once we get to have shaders on planets, this will be much easier to make "sunspots" and other things on the Sun-planet" entity...
