That bit is right. I meant them to sell all avialable kit, but at a 300% mark up. I hadn't intended the Naval Energy Unit to be offered for sale though unless you had completed the relevent mission which unlocks it. When unlocked its offered for sale in all high-tech systems or stations. Looks like the Monks have got hold of it early!

The culprit is the monk station's equivalent_tech_level of 15 in combination with Realistic Shipyards. :wink: No more information here, because I don't want to spoil anything. Open RS's equipment.plist, and you will see what I mean.

Lestradae is already aware and will change it.

A second possible culprit is the NavyStarships oxp from Charlie, from where ... certain ideas which shall not be spoiled ... and also the potential problem was inherited.

Will be corrected for the successor version of RS, the "Oolite Shipyards Expansion V1.0".

Cheers 8)

Edit: Just thought of something, unless you want it to become available at some point or another. In this case my opinion would be that the NEU is massively underpriced, even if tripled up from its original worth. Just my 0.2 Cr ...

On a separate subject - but still in Galaxy 2 (so I thought I'd keep it in this thread) - the Galaxy 2 Wiki - here:-
http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite ... t/Galaxy_2

...only lists 1 planet with Tech level 15; namely "TEZAEDED".

However, I can see planet "ERSOONVE" with Tech level 15 too
Image

This is labelled as planet 50 on the Wiki and the entry doesn't match what I'm seeing ;)
50. Ersoonve (231,47), {4,26,42,55,69,114,119,142,202} within 7.0 LY. Radius 3047 km.

Corporate State, Poor Agri. Pop. 4.3 B, Prod. 11352 MCr. HC: 9, TL: 8, Human Colonials.
The world Ersoonve is beset by dreadful earthquakes.
Hopefully someone can correct the Wiki. (or correct our oolite data to align with the wiki) :P

Found another Tech 15 planet in Galaxy 2 :shock:

"DIMADI"

Image

Top right corner of G2 - 2.4LY from ('Iconics' Corp on) ZARIA.
36. Dimadi (243,10), {18,26,55,69,142,146,202,251} within 7.0 LY. Radius 6387 km.
Anarchy, Poor Ind. Pop. 3.5 B, Prod. 8960 MCr. HC: 8, TL: 9, Human Colonials.
This planet is most fabled for Zero-G cricket but cursed by unpredictable solar activity.

Hum... the two planet descriptions in your screenshots – "Ersoonve is a famed tourist attraction and is well known for its hoopy casinos", and "Dimadi is the local economic hub with many companies being based there" – don't sound like they came from the original Elite/Oolite. Some OXPs do rewrite planets and planet descriptions. The versions on the wiki are probably the originals: my guess would be these extra TL15 planets you've found are coming from an OXP, probably Ionics.

I think so too.

Quick search in ionics1.2.1 OXP 'Config/planetinfo.plist' ...

Code: Select all

patb@patb-desktop:~/.Oolite/AddOns/ionics-1.2.1.oxp/Config$ grep 'start of' planetinfo.plist
	<!--- start of Zaria's entry -->
	<!--- start of Ramaza's entry -->
	<!--- start of Bebege's entry -->
	<!--- start of Dimadi's entry -->
	<!--- start of Soorte's entry -->
	<!--- start of Ersoonve's entry -->
	<!--- start of Legeara's entry -->
	<!--- start of Cevara's entry -->
If OXP's can re-write planet data, then the Wiki is not reliable - at least there should be a caveat in the Wiki informing the user than this is 'vanilla' data and OXP's can re-write planet data.

Yes, Ionics does some massive changes to the whole north-eastern corner of Galaxy 2. It should be quite obvious for anyone who targets Zaria or one of the other worlds before and after installing Ionics. (Its the very first thing I noticed, because I had travelled to the north-eastern corner before I installed the OXP. Suddenly the whole setting was different.)

Although I am not quite sure why the changes Galileo made are as massive as they are. IIRC they also involve systems which are not even mentioned in the Ionics storyline. Probably they would have eventually become involved?

And the possibility to change basically everything about a system is a pretty obvious feature of Oolite, isn't it? I mean, how else would you explain the existence of moons and even multiple planets in a game, which is essentially defined by the one system = one sun = one planet equation?

Well if you're going to alter planet data for OXP's - at least get the planet names to match up on mission page + Galaxy page!!! :evil:

Yes, a long standing typo in Ionics. Never corrected, because there never was another version.

Yes, a long standing typo (most probably c&p-error) in Ionics. Never corrected, because there never was another version.

Such an important point, it had to be made twice :)
