In Windows, I normally find that pressing shift after you've clicked on the batch file (when the DOS box appears, or else Windows can end up running all sorts of other files in the directory as it applies the shift to your click) and letting go once the batch file has launched the main Oolite window (the one that the game runs in) is enough.

Indeed there have been one or two occasions when the spinning Cobra didn't actually appear until I released shift... :roll:

I'm a little bit 'luckier' with the [shift] key & opening other programs

Since I run it from a USB Flash Drive AND I also have a USB program launcher (Pstart) on the Drive - I found that by holding the [Shift] key while clicking the [Pstart] Launch option starts up with no problem at all

If you have it installed on your computer - How about creating a windows shortcut (I assume you're running Windows - otherwise whatever it's calledon a MAC etc) to 'RunOolite.bat' & holding [SHIFT] while double clicking it - it might work
