Yes, I always wounded how your ships are propelled when not by thrusters.

Pedal-power. That's why they tend to spin around, and the thargons are so glad to launch and get away from the sweaty smell ;)

If the ships are pedal-propelled there should be a Lance Armstrong/Tour de France OXP. It's fueled by narcotics and gives you a higher top speed. ;)

You don't need a laserhit for that, just start your own engines and look in your back mirror what happens. Hmm, maybe it will not burn when using an imperial courier for towing.
Just be thankful you didn't swap out the cargo space for cabins.

Oooo, is that bacon I smell?

Hi,

I just wanted to try out Oolite. I downloaded and installed. When I start to play it is always closing its windows within a few secound so I find myself out. I don't even have enough time to finish the first jump.
Can you help me?

Thx,
Attila101

Hi Attila, if you're running XP then there should be a file called the stderr.txt generated when Oolite fires up and it should live in the same folder as the Oolite executable, if you post the first fifty lines of it here then the collective forum will be able to look over it.

I know you said you don't know what gfx card you've got but a general spec' of your laptop would help - cpu, memory.

If you're running XP you can get a lot of this from running dxdiag.

i.e. Start->run and type "dxdiag" (without speech marks) and hit return.

The System tab will tell you about your PC spec and the Display tab should tell you about your display adapter - i.e. who makes it, what it is and how much memory it has got.

PS Welcome to the forum

And also which version of Oolite you're running, 1.65 or 1.71.2 (last stable or current test basically).

I also run Oolite on an XP laptop, and 1.71.2 is actually more stable than 1.65 in that environment. I used to have the same issue occasionally, before the tunnel the window just self-closes.

Hi,

Thanks all of you for the help. I just simply installed the 1.71.2 version and it helped.
I've never imagined that once upon the time a Thargoid will help me out. :D

thx,
Attila101
