Dragonfire has typo there: should read Isinor. I have done several runs on that route. Buy wine in Isinor, trade it for computers in Zaonce, go back to swap for wines and repeat. Computers give profit 30-40 credits per ton, wines 10+. When I get enough credits to stock my extended cargo full of computers (~3570 credits), then I'll get LOTS per run! (~1225)Dragonfire wrote:I always favored the Zaonce to Inisor route, myself. A LOT of easy money to be made for little distance covered, and relatively few pirates.
Good beginner trade route

I also made lots on that route, except I traded furs instead of wines... I'm not sure which would be more profitable.Matti wrote:Dragonfire has typo there: should read Isinor. Seems like a popular route

Trade Furs when you can, over L&W, the average profit is higher.

I still have issues over trading furs - they were contraband in ArcElite, and it took me quite a while to realise they weren't in Oolite. Again referring to my ArcElite days, I used to have a trade route between Qudira and... some high tech planet nearby whose name escapes me. Mainly because there was a mission based there, so after completing it, I'd hang around for a bit, racking up the kill count as I did so.

Re: Good beginner trade route
The thing that always bugs me about Furs (and the trading in E/Oolite in general) is that sometimes trading in it sometimes just doesn't make sense. Just what are those lobstoids going to do with all those wolf pelts on their Rich Industrial planet beset by solar activity?
It would be lovely to "fix" (without breaking or making too non-Elite or complicated) the trading in the game. Given trading is such a big aspect of the game, it's starting to look very tired.

Base price is significantly higher which means poor trader can't get full cargo of those. Of course combination of furs and cheaper booze can work...DaddyHoggy wrote:Trade Furs when you can, over L&W, the average profit is higher.

I always traded food, computers, and textiles along that route. There was another planet in there (other than Lave)...but the name escapes me. *Sigh* I miss that area, but I'm on a bounty assignment to the other corner of the galaxy.

Well you're not going to sell furs to polar bears!DaddyHoggy wrote:The thing that always bugs me about Furs (and the trading in E/Oolite in general) is that sometimes trading in it sometimes just doesn't make sense. Rich people want what poor people can't get, and the more ridiculous, the better. I would expect a lobstoid Paris Hilton to wear fur.
Alternatively, lobstoids may be perfectly suited to tanning leather; they may be importing raw pelts and exporting exquisitely made luxury leatherwork.

All true of course, but you get the general thrust of my argument...SandJ wrote:Well you're not going to sell furs to polar bears!DaddyHoggy wrote:The thing that always bugs me about Furs (and the trading in E/Oolite in general) is that sometimes trading in it sometimes just doesn't make sense. Re: Good beginner trade route
Even though it's been posted before, I'm a big fan of the Tionisla/Isinor route. Relatively safe, and one can quickly iron-ass one's ship.
Also with the Galnavy oxp, Isinor is a Sector command, so military missions are available. However, a reasonably iron-ass is required (see above )
Just my 2cr worth
