My ambient level is set to 0.4. I did trying it at 0.0 but the effect was still there.

The lines on your HUD only appear when that area of the screen passes over an object like a ship, planet or a nebulae, like in the pics above. I'm not too bothered about that actually. Nice hud by the way, only downloaded it yesterday lol.

I tried your galaxy256.png image but got the same results.
