I had a feeling it might be something like that but I did want to check that I hadn't caused some sort of conflict. I'll soldier on

Sorry you had to go to work but someone has to pay taxes to keep us poor old pensioners.

Huddled round the monitor to keep warm, Fingers frozen to the joystick, etc, etc

Thanks

I assume you are talking about forcing a misjump
I have tried all the method i can find, pulling back on the stick etc when jumping, but none seem to work.

Any ideas?

Thanks

That's strange - it should work every time. What version of Oolite are you running? I'm using v1.65.

I'm using 1.68 on vista, if that helps

Thanks

Have you tried forcing a witchjump using the keyboard?

If you mean holding down the cursor key, Yes

Thanks

Pulling up at the count of zero must work. Maybe this was a bug in that version. It has always worked in 1.65 or 1.69 . Maybe it's worth a try with those.

I found at least one reference on the boards to someone doing a misjump in v1.68 on Windows. I've tried this bit of the mission again to make sure it's OK and I haven't encountered any problems.

It's long shot but could Vista can have anything to do with it?

If you really can't get it to work I can PM you with a workaround.

I think you;re right, it must be vista
I installed 1.65 and it was no different
Unfortunately, during the swapping around ,and inspite of carefully placing my saved game folder out of harms way, I managed to destroy it
No luck with system restore so it's back to Lave and a dodgy Cobra.
Sorry it was all for nothing, I may be back to you in about 3 months.
By the way, 1.69 won't run at all on my machine

You can reconstruct a save file in the text editor - the trick is getting the galaxy and system coordinates set up correctly. I can put a file together or give you the necessary variables so you can pick up where you left off. Don't like seeing a fellow Commander in distress!

Nice of you to offer but I am really quite enjoying clawing my way up from the bottom again. Relearning docking, doing missions I missed, etc
I'll soon have my Tiger Mk1 back

Thanks again

you could at least set your number of kills. Then it's just like you sold up and went backpacking for a few years until you ran out of money. Now you're the same commander, back again, just broke!

I have at last got back to Leisara looking for the Alkrab, albeit in a clapped out Python
I have got the forced misjump working and have checked all the stages to Ontesage. Apart from Thargoids and navy battleships I've found nothing except calls for help from an escape capsule, which I can never find.

Can any one give me a clue

Thanks

holding down ¬ marks the last ship to hail you on the scanner. Handy if you want to find somthing calling for help.
