There are two types of pirate python one with a skull and crossbones paint job the other has a standard trader one. If you fire a normal missile at the standard one it almost never has an ECM and it is too slow to avoid the missile if you launch from about 5km or below. This is a useful fact if your laser temp is high from killing the escorts.
