EDIT: Never mind, I found the answer in another post...
To cross-polinate: AddOns directory needs to be placed in: /usr/lib/GNUstep/System/Applications/
and not within the oolite.app directory! Interesting.

@Joeri: could you please post WHERE you ended up putting your OXPs? I've looked in my home directory as well as the install directory inside /usr/lib/...blah blah... and couldn't find the directory anywhere.

@all: I tried creating an AddOns directory in the folder where the oolite executable lies (/usr/lib/GNUstep/.../oolite.app/) where I also found two other directories: Contents and Resources. However, I don't think the OXP has loaded correctly...

The only one I installed was mPak.oxp and I don't see any 'rusty' ships for sale anywhere. Is there a way to tell whether or not an OXP has been loaded correctly?

As far as I am aware the best place for OXPs is in the /home/yourname/.Oolite directory.

Note the leading dot - it is a hidden directory. If you cannot see these directories and files then, in Konqueror, click View and select "Show Hidden Files"

If you don't have this directory you could try creating it. The advantage is that it is in your home directory and you don't have to be root to write here.

The full path to an oxp should be:

/home/yourname/.Oolite/AddOns/yourOXP.oxp .
