@Ahruman: Somebody should fashion a medal and award it to you for you work. Great job continuing developing the greatest game out there.

Does anybody have any recommendations for cards with newer processors? Requirements: Slim fit and passive cooling. I want to be able to play my favorite game when/if a version that addresses the sticky message bug (even if only by enabling moving the placement of messages with the hud.plist) comes out.
300 billboards in Your Ad Here!
Astromines and more in Commies. AVAILABLE HERE along with other Oolite eXpansion Packs.
btw, does the log reporter insert at the top, or append to the bottom?
Both the crash report and the console log are appended at the bottom.
One of these appears to be the frangible subentity problem mentioned elsewhere. You don’t happen to know what you were shooting at the time, do you? :-)
whoops, so those are the earlier crashes then, not the latest. it kept happening yesterday, but maybe i should wait and see if it get's nailed in 1.69.1.
most of the recent crashes seem to occur when dodging a lot of lasers or when warping from system to system. especially the last.
btw, i noticed that with the 1.69 update, the ship at the beginning no longer swaps out with other objects in the game. it just twitches as the animation endlessly cycles on the first ship. also, if you start to load a previous commander and cancel, the music quits. ^^ does not affect gameplay in any way, but thought i'd mention it.
edit: actually oolite seems to have frozen by canceling the loading of the commander. no animation, no music, no response. it did allow me to quit out of it, though. ^^

I thought I’d responded to this… this is normal behaviour. It will show the Cobra 3 until you press N. This has always been the case.

This is a known non-critical bug which I intend to fix before the next “stable” release. It should respond to the number keys as though you’d started a new game (e.g., press 2 to get the menu).
Hi, I've been using and abusing Oolite for a couple of months. Got quite a few IRC buddies hooked on it, too. Waiting with baited breath for the source to compile 1.69.1 for my preferred ubuntu system so I can get on with my save game which is currently non-functional.
Thankyou for everyone's good work. I only got a few tasters of Elite as a kid, really is a joy to finally explore the game.
I can confirm that julyy’s crash is the same as StarGazer’s, reported elsewhere. I have an idea of the cause, and fixing it is part of ongoing reorganization, but it’s fiddly, so it won’t be fixed in 1.69.1. All I can do is recommend not using the experimental textured planets stuff for now; it will be disabled in 1.69.1 and hopefully back in 1.69.2.
I found out, that if I target (while docked) another starsystem, then that I am currently in, the F7 or 7 doesn't crash. Maybe Iam wrong, but it seems the planet is displayed in a too big size then. Mabe this could be helpful. Would be a pitty to let it out in 1.69.1, cause I love the textures.
By the way: The lighting of the ships and engines and the background nebulars are perfekt now!
