I think this may end up as a rather longer story than Status Quo...eally beginning to like the style and the development of the storyline, right on!
The focus on the states of mind and human interaction reminds me a bit of 'the Gap' series by S.Donaldson, I like it alot. (those books take up in excess of a foot of shelfspace by the way)
I wanted to add a bit of depth to the key characters as they were a bit two dimensional by necessity in Status Quo.
I've also found I've had to tread carefully when dealing with 'Raxxla' as I want to do it justice - without blowing it away for anyone else who wants to write about it. I'm currently working on chapters 4,5,6 simultaneously to be sure it makes sense - so there is going to be bit of a hiatus whilst I work things out!
As for the Anlian Gin... A nice G&T is my favourite tipple, so hence the name. Anle is the system next door to Tianve so I figured Rebecca would have grown up with it. Other than that I hadn't thought much about it other than the backhanded reference to HHGTTG, though I figured it was probably either expensive, exotic or bordering on the illegal...
