Thank You Winston and maik for resolving this. It is truly appreciated.

Does anyone else think that there needs to be something done going forward as far as backups are concerned? Two years between backups is a long time. Should be once a month at a minimum. Daily backups would be ideal. Suggestion is all my feebleness in such matters will allow for. Anyone else have some input or better yet a possible solution?

The Seven #1 Golden Rules of User-Generated Data: "Backup, backup. Backup, backup. Backup, backup, BACKUP!" ...and then you backup the backups -- plural! ... Have I said "Backup" yet? Oh, and of course, "Access". It doesn't help somebody's got backups, but nobody else can get to them.

...And feebleness: I can also only add my voice to the chorus of onlookers. If I had the means, knowledge and skills, I would put up another 24/7 server, and make daily backups, and also give full administrative privileges/rights to at least two people more dedicated and capable than myself: one person here in the CommOonuity with remote access, and the other with physical access. So that there's a backup of admin and technical staff also. ...And EVERYBODY will have access to their contact details. ...And then I would write it in my last will and testament that those involved perpetuate these arrangements in perpetuity as well. ... I can dream, can't I?

Also, if there needs to be a passing of keys, access, etc etc, and it involves any monetary issues, more than happy to contribute to enable Oolite to live on.

The wiki is back. At lest to me.

So now that the immediate problem is resolved, it makes sense to continue looking into backups. The more the merrier.

at having that returned

Who is hosting the backup site? Can we whack it so it starts backing up again?
