Yes, I read the quoted material, and assumed that was the pertinent part, but I don't see any connection to the lasers issue. Responding to what Disembodied wrote, I have a theory about the interwebs. I think the internet has already achieved consciousness/sentience, and much of the foolishness we've seen propagated online in recent years is actually the internet performing a Turing test on humanity, trying to figure out if we are conscious or not.
True. I really suspect that.
