Oh and BTW can i use the mining laser as an anti-missile defence too? I`m planning to install it backward. So when someone fires the ECM-hardened missile i`ll just switch the view and shoot it.

You can use the mining laser to shoot anything ... although the firing rate makes it a tough solution for missiles. You'll need a good aim!

I think I'd prefer a beam laser on my aft mount - splash missiles and snipe at following ships.

Its hard to aim while reversed controls. Only as a last measure against the ECM hardened missile but in any other cases its much easier to just turn around and fire front laser than to fight backwards.
