OTOH, sabotaging the euro by insisting on keeping the pound should have been the point where the Europeans threw you out.
There is a large number of EU members not participating in the Euro, some of them by referendum, e.g. Denmark. Given the economical development in Greece and some other problematic Euro states, it's certainly a mistake that these have become Euro group members at all.
Australia has its own business, you are part of the Five Eyes too.
I make two assertions:
1) The pommies sabotaged the euro, and:
2) It's time the proletariat rose up against the 1%:
-and you think (1) is trolling? :?

Sky Data analysis shows Waitrose shoppers are more likely to vote Remain, while those who shop at Aldi are more likely to vote Leave.
For some strange reason, I find this highly amusing!

To leave would result in a bonfire of civil rights, environmental legislation and employee safeguards (which we vetoed anyway).
Sure we'd get some cash back, but we would have to "trust" the government of the time that this money would replace the cash breaks we get from Europe currently and would be spent in a similar way. It all comes down to; doyou trust your government (and ALL future governments) to subsidise as Europe does?

It's a one shot deal. We are assholes in Europe at the moment but we CAN be because we were there at the beginning. If we leave (and there isn't a cascade effect) do you really think we're going to be able to bluff negotiate better trade deals? Or get back on the same/better terms?

The outies all talk about freedom and not being bullied into staying in Europe. Truth is this isn't like jettisoning England to the moon to mine gold. To vote out will cause chaos, chaos enables people who have positioned themselves correctly to take advantage of it and make MONEY. Create a corpse and you get to sell off the organs. Anti-Socialist elitist maggotry at it's very best.

You can almost feel them waiting, to set up more quangos and lunch time drinking clubs sorting out how long a UK f**king cucumber should be allowed to be in this "brave new world of Brexit". ALL PAID FOR BY OUR MONEY. Screw em. They don't need the cash the Europe thing is stressed but it's ticking along.

This is a game, to carve off little old England as a public school playground. The "IN's" are bombarding us with stats and facts and figures the OUT's? Discredit, discredit, discredit, don't be bullied!. They have no stats; they have an ideal, that died drowning in the mud shot full of holes at the Somme.

Pack of low browed, retrograde f***t**ds that think that isolationism is the best way to proceed in the 21st century. Well they've got a kindred spirit doing quite well over in the US at the moment.... Bad hair, big mouth, name like a fart. You know the guy.

Everyone in my family is descended from 19th and early 20th century refugees who were fleeing the Tsar and other problems. I hear this a lot from some of them...

I've voted for staying, because while I think the economic side of it all is a bit iffy, we haven't actually been at war with Germany or France since the late 1940s, which I think may not be unrelated. Also because I rather like being free to travel over a fairly large area without having to go through endless customs and immigration formalities, sell stuff in Europe without bothering to fill in customs declarations, etc. etc.
From Charlie Stross's blog today:

And in the case of the EU ... the EU isn't really about mediating European arrest warrants or reciprocal rights of residence or setting standards for power consumption by vacuum cleaners. The EU is the current incarnation of an institution established in 1947 to ensure that never again would the nations of western Europe go to war with one another. And it has been staggeringly successful: no army has crossed the Rhine river in more than 70 years, and this is the longest period of peace on the Rhine since before the rise of the Roman Empire. This is the dog that doesn't bark, and therefore doesn't make the news. Some of you might point to NATO as being the instrument of peace, but I disagree: the existence of armies means that war is still possible, but it's the EU that has largely removed the motives for war.

Only bad news are good news, so people (Germans like British) tend to forget or ignore all the advantages that came with the EU -a common economy zone, freedom of movement, financial support for structurally weaker regions, and probably many other things.

Memory is age specific. As soon as the generational knowledge is lost the people left start looking round and get it into their heads that their life is the base line.
This is incorrect, we stand on columns build from the bones of our forefathers. We can fall if we step too far, we can fall far and hard.

We are in serious danger of embracing a romanticised view of the past that is both unrealistic, socially and economically damaging. When we were independent before we had an empire. Now we have kids that want to be rock stars and a manufacturing/resource industry that's been corporately raided for about 30 years. This is a bad idea.....

I'm watching Cameron and Obama on BBC right now. Cameron is an obsequious fool. Obama is psychotic.

How are pommies not ashamed of the way their ruling class kow-tow to America? Your government is incapable of being independent. You need the EU to save you from your own "leaders".

Thirteen votes is a pretty good turn-out, and I'm still the lone voice in the wilderness - excellent!
