OO you just wish they were crickets. Crickets are for late summer evenings and hardly intrude. Cicadas on the other hand.. Very loud and go most of the night. Will make you into a psychotic insect hunter. Apparently still survive in Nevada bomb testing grounds the day after tests. Cockroaches don't have a lookin.
Lucky for you cold climate livers, they don't like the cold.

What's with the cricket pic? Was it LBW? coz they wickets look to be standing.

Stormbringer, eh? I seem to recall that was released in quad in the land of e pluribus unum. <dons anecdote sombero> About that time, I was working in the hi-fi/vinyl trade, and we got our hands on the quad version of The Dark Side of the Moon (reel-to-reel, I think). Sounded awesome in the acoustically near-perfect demo room one evening after hours!

Just a heads up that vinyl/quadro (as opposed to stereo -- I guess that's what your "quad" means) was price and technology prohibitive when initially released -- well in "my side" of the world, at least. My only "spatial" setup came after 2000 with the 5.1 & co., computer/digital tracks.

So yea, Stormbringer (actually the single Stormbringer/Love Don't Mean a Thing). The second side grew on me, even before I had to put aside a long and very exclusive appreciation of Gillan.

Prohibitive price-wise, certainly! The cost of some of the kit in that demo room was eye-watering!

just been lookin at weeds.
But you can't have quad sound on vinyl
Noo. Reel to Reel can be real, but you want more than 4 tracks.
OOps and digital happens. Uft well.

Rested my eyes for a moment, it was 2019.

Apologies, I'm just a dumb pilot... and am as blissfully ignorant of as many of the tropes of modern so-called "culture" as I can manage. Can anybody explain to me what this thread is supposed to be about?

Topic is in title. Just tumbles along.
Amazing what you can learn when there is no set path.
I had no idea that optic bandwidth had made its way into HiFi audio. Knew they was working on an actual optical transistor. last i knew about it, it was about the size of a matchbox and not overly reliable.
