I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Pale Moon to Quantum
I think that's what really did it for me, I was happy enough with firefox that it was my only browser but they just changed too much. I could have delt with the square tabs I don't really care that much about the aesthetics of the browser anyway but the arrows are horrid.Cody wrote:especially the arrows! I hate the arrows!
I tried slimjet which is based on chrome but didn't really care for it, then I tried pale moon and I like it. Its a little slower than firefox but then firefox 57 is slower on my rig than 56 so there you go. Pale moon is still fast enough and after checking out the forum a little I found I like Moonchild's style.

a lot of new FF performance is it is now 64 bit... previous versions were 32 bit.
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with

For what it is worth (and I'm late to this conversation) I find recent (release - not beta or anything like that) releases of Firefox, on both Linux and Windows, to be considerably more stable than before. Perhaps Firefox profiles with accumulated lank, or browser extensions, are to blame.

Re: Pale Moon to Quantum
yes i agree quantum seems much better than previous versions. trouble is i am too invested in chrome now to go back...
one thing i really dont like is that NoScript for quantum seems to have gone down the "tablet app" route and is exceedingly annoying to use now. another reason to not go back is i used colorful tabs extension... it doesnt play well with themes... had to turn it off because i couldnt see cody's great theme....

Re: Quantum to Waterfox
I've used Firefox for years.
I tried the 64bit version a couple of years ago.
NOT GOOD
Was my reply.
The 64 bit has way too many glitchies using older stuff.
My TDM has been 64b for years, still runs 32 great. So guess what I use. yup x86
Newer DOES NOT mean BETTER.
If others want to use 128b crash boot bandy. Mine will work.
Everytime Fox internet gives me the shits, unload and install older version... Ye tell it not to up date, it'll take you to the newest crap version made by teen on phones.
Whathef is an app?

Re: Pale Moon browser
You may want to look at this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... y-control/
I'm using it and it works pretty well. Only downside: You need to fill a few forms with your most used entries so that it learns.
