This means that now Spoken Messages are functional, right?
Yep, all up & running sweet.

Including Spoken Messages.
Thanks again everyone.

I'm inclined to agree.. but am curious as to why you think that?
I've always preferred system-wide installs myself - so I'm curious about this as well.

Having tried both installs I think the Home directory is slightly better.
They obviously both work, but the Home install just seems to have a more logical file structure - things are easier and quicker to find/access - and as an OXP author this is more convenient. Also by keeping all the files in the Home folder this would make say an O/S change or upgrade easier as the whole Home folder (including all the Oolite files) can just be copied and reinstated as is.
The benefits and advantages are minimal, and in practical terms for most users either install is fine, but personally I slightly favour the Home directory install.

Interesting - thanks Smivs. I always figured with the .Oolite folder in the Home folder, one only has to install the game again if an OS upgrade is done; but an interesting point all the same
