I'll bring a big torch then
Well after a bit of struggle I managed to convert a .dat file to .obj (The CobMKIII) and with the appropriate plugin a perfect model of the Cob sitting in sketchup.
Soooooo. I suppose the next bit is to add some tail pipes to it. Can I add them as part of the existing mesh or is it prefered to make them a sub entity?
Tecturing is not great in SU but if I can add color/material to use as a guide that I can manipulate in Gimp after conversion it should be OK?

The Darkside. This would be the darkness of unconsciousness? Currently banging my head against several large brick walls trying to unfold in UV with wings3d. I've watched videos, read how to's, downloaded the manual....... I'd be better off with a bloody slide rule
Managed to output a UV.png of the cobra outline. A quirk of linux I have seen before - When exporting BMP/jpg you get a large black square. When exporting as .png you get the outline with a transparent background. Possibly progress..

<grins> If the people north of the border march joyfully into the
utopia that is Salmondland, that old flag will have to be changed.

Oddly enough, that was the first thing I thought of, too..
@ BBD.. I was wondering why you're not taking your screenshots in full-screen mode?

A peculiarity I am having on my netbook. Fullscreen disables the function of the prt Sc key. Running Mint 13. My main PC has more poke but is upstairs until I make a small unit to hide it in in the living room.
BBD Keeping thargoids in check since 1752........OOh nearly Pims O'clock!
