I assume by communications it's really one sided them talking to you rather than being able to respond (well, aside from with lasers ;) )

<nods> Talking to you, and to each other - try it.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Oh, I will in 1.8 for sure :)

Maybe some creative folk will work in ways to talk back too (I think that was mentioned in the suggestions box area)

0.4 is now out. This provides at least one comms personality - and usually two - for all the built-in ship roles, and I've also expanded most of the general comms lists for messages shared between personalities, since you'll be hearing those a lot.
Great to know. Must update!

0.5 is now out - fixes the various bugs reported in 0.4, and improves the variety of curses available.

I lose track of which is core comms and which is this OXP - but I've seen a bandit Sidewinder demanding cargo from a GalCop Viper Interceptor.

It at least bumps the thread, anyway.

Yeah, not wise - even I think twice about annoying Interceptors. The miscreant's name: The Ecstatic Alligator's Woe

Could happen, the way the messages are set up - there's a lot of "give us your cargo" on the generic pirate attack messages. Would require quite a bit of extra complication in the OXP to stop it happening, unfortunately.

I don't think it's necessary to fix - it's rather amusing to see that even in space there's the odd criminal numpty trying to pull the equivalent of holding up a gun shop with a flick knife

<chortles> True enough - it certainly brought a smile to my face.

I'm rather late to this, but it occurred to me that it may also be the 'Suicide by Cop.OXP'
