<grins> Because all the easy, short-distance jobs have already been taken.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

What Cody said.. to start with, you will probably struggle to really turn a profit with contract runs, but once your rep gets to triple-A+.. hoo-boy does some nice work come your way! Stick with it!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Indeed! Right now I'm hauling just over ten kilos worth of Gemstone contracts across G2, as well as half a ton of Gold and nearly 400kg of Platinum contracts. I'm eagerly waiting for my cash balance to skyrocket when I cash this lot out!

I'm also running a contract for 130 tons of Furs. And just over the same amount of Textiles.

And a passenger to Beedbeon.

All in an Anaconda :-)

<chuckles> Damn.. sounds like a nice little earner you've got going on there.. I'd love to hear what the profit margin turns out to be, after you've shifted that lot! 8)

Think I may have to give this 'Conda-jockey game a shot myself..
