Just to say, I spent half an hour last night exploring your cemetery - and enjoying every minute of it. Thank you!

People used to do this 200 years ago looking for romantic inspiration (back in the days when people were interested in experiencing the 'sublime'). There were concurrently issues with bodysnatchers robbing freshly dug graves to use the bodies for training surgeons in the medical schools. An entire industry developed to try and stop this (mortsafes etc).

My beloved wife passed away last night.

It was a blessed release.

I'd been having nightmares of the Motor Neurone Disease (ALS/Lou Gehring's disease) violently strangling her to death as it destroyed the nerves to the muscles of her lungs.

In the end, it was nothing like that, Thank God. She passed away peacefully in her own bed, slowly stopping breathing, with no pain and no trauma. A blessed release from the miseries of having her body stolen from her control.

That is terribly sad news, my deepest condolences.

Thank you for sharing, and showing how to reflect on it.

Terribly sorry for your loss Cholmondely.

As we say in Greece, "live on always remembering her"

Cholmondely, my condolences as well.

You told me of her disease, I did not know it was that progressed.
