fascinating.. Our OOniverses are sooo different... I have yet to see an anaconda, alone or in convoy.... I usually see pythons or derivatives of pythons... at long range they appear normal, but get within the 10km ring and then they all turn red but try to maintain formation while firing at me enpassant. I also see them in anarchy or feudal/multigovernment space.
Sorry alanslade... did not mean to hijack your subject however, if you decide to take a convoy on...you are informed and it is your precombat decision as what to do.

Heheh.. there's nothing like delivery contracts to take you places you'd otherwise avoid, thus helping to rack up some kills..

You should see them around occasionly - try loitering in the aegis for a while (which is often quite entertaining). An Anaconda plus six is my favourite free ride - and if I'm in escort mode, fighting with them against a bunch of bandits is excellent sport!

I usually avoid Anarchy systems, because I usually get more combat action than I want from supposedly safer systems...such as Democracies and Confederacies. Number of pirates found in a system is more affected by whether the system is industrial rather than government type.
I generally avoid ship-groups when heading toward the main station after arriving in-system. This is to avoid mass-locking my torus drive and also because if the ship-group is a pirate bunch...it's likely more than I want to fight at once.

Yeah, this can happen... I've been having a whole load of trouble at Atredi lately.

Combat advice: Don't go diving in where Adders fear to tread. NPC's are not the greatest marksmen from a distance, but close-in and in numbers they are lethal. Then there are those Press Space! situations: Collisions either with an NPC on witchfuel steroids or a missile launched nearly point blank. When you get really good you can be more adventurous and daring, Like Señor Cody.

Hi
What requirements are needed before I will be able to accept a bounty contract - they refuse me for every job?

The only requirement is the # of kills you have... Harmless, mostly harmless and poor don't make the grade...It has been sooo long in my bounty hunters role, I think Average is the level you can start getting contracts. Good hunting. If you take too long in getting your target, he may make a wormhole jump or drop off a quirium... keeps you on your toes. I never hunt the cheap ones.. as a result I often fight the target and 5 outriders.
ok,just ran a anarchy run... have 21 kills on my trader so I am rated "poor" and I was called a blithering muppet with a tin can of a ship and to come back when I am better equipped. so Average rating may be the level you want to achieve.

<shameless plug mode>
So you just may want to also invest in a
Q-Bomb Detector..

How do I check a ships status - currently all I get if I target them is a name but no idea of their status

Cool on my way to a level 12 system now, is it legal to attack offenders and fugitives even if not fired upon?
