Good luck with the project Selezen!
OT: I noticed you've used this bit of concept art from frontier in your promo video...
...there's something about that door that really bothers me.. who's going to be able to walk through that? probably only Dolly Parton and that's only if she shuffles through sideways

I kind of thought he did, but didn't want to go on about it like some sort of egomaniac. Really, though, Michael has been absolutely awesome through this last montn. Without his advice I don't think this Kickstarter would have been half as good as it is.Commander McLane wrote:You're too modest. He made this update specifically for you.Selezen wrote:Michael Brookes included me in his latest update for Elite: Dangerous today as well,
Pledge received, thank you.Commander McLane wrote:Going to pledge now.
And thanks to the other who pledged...maik, Griff, drew, wolfwood and everyone. Thanks.
Yeah, griff, I noticed that door too when I was trying to make it scroll properly - I didn't even realise it was a door until you posted that. I thought it was a window or something. Strange concept art people.
Re: Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG
I havens played a pen and paper RPG sine my dormitory days at the naval academy. I'm looking forward to see what you come up with. I have three teenagers in the house that need educating in this area. RPG is to them synonymous with computer games. I would love to introduce them to a different world.

I don't recall ever playing an RPG (of any sort). We used to play Battleships with pencil and paper when I was a kid, though.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG
Only played one RPG (over 15 years ago) and that was Earthdawn. Played a female elven archer that sometimes got a bit moody, especially when the rest of the adventurers chose to take part in fights that weren't relevant to the campaign. Me, a high level archer that could pick off the quarry (around corners) at long range, and a healer to boot. Not my fault if they forget to stock up on healing potions and I'm out of favours with my god.
PS: Pledged yesterday.

Selezen - Congratulations with this project I'm sure you'll do a great job.
Also good to see that Frontier retained the two references to Oolite in the Kickstarter update no doubt realising the level of financial and other help the Oolite community is providing.
With regard to pledges finances are very tight this month for a number of reasons however I will definitely make a pledge at the start of next month before the kickstarter finishes on the 3rd.

Re: Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG
No worries, Shipbuilder. I appreciate money worries...
We've broken the half way mark - in style, I would add, with a £200 pledge smashing it out of the park.
Trying to write up a full length update at the moment - it's hard to write. I keep getting distracted checking for pledges and comments.
Keep spreading the word!
I did hope he would keep the Oolite mentions in there. As I said before, if it wasn't for you guys keeping the flame alive so well we might not even be getting the chance to do any of this.
Mental note: stop gushing.

Two thirds of the way! £3500 and counting.
Things have slowed a bit now. I need to get more updates and more publicity. And I need another 4 hours in each day and no time for sleep! I was meant to finish my lunch 12 minutes ago!!

Re: Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG
New update, guys!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sel ... c8eb4c7003
3am I eventually got that posted. Spent most of the evening sending emails to places finding out how much physical stuff would cost. Printing mostly, but some other cool stuff.
Still trying to work out the best method of making miniatures.

Re: Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG
I actually bought one some days ago, the MakerBot Replicator 2. If you want to go that route I could certainly print some models of yours and give feedback on their printability before you go a more pro route. Would help me getting more experience with the printer as well.DaddyHoggy wrote:Buy a 3D printer? (or three)Selezen wrote:Still trying to work out the best method of making miniatures.

I asked Frontier about it. Not allowed to do it anyway.
Boo.
