Please don't ask those difficult questions to our TGHC!

In fact the question was just a broadcast that happened to be placed in my reply to TGHC.

If you're volunteering to be the maintainer for the amd64 build, hopefully once you have a working build environment, there shouldn't be an awful lot to do; mainly uploading it to BerliOS and making it available for rsync updates. (If you have a machine available that can do nightly builds, even better - it's quite easy to write a script that uploads the results to the rsync server, using ...umm... rsync, and optionally posts a build report to the web site). PM me if you want to do this and I can set you up with a login on the rsync server. Talk to Ahruman about the BerliOS stuff.

With newer hardware there may be some things you can do that I can't - for instance I don't own any hardware that does shaders, so I can't tell if these are working as an example.

Having just found ver. 1.65 in a Ubuntu repository I have been looking to see if there is a later version AMD64 around , I ended up here.

While I would love to help with getting some updates working I have several problems, not least of which is a weird proxy serve,r that is out of my control, that does not allow me to use ftp or svn. Also while I can d/l at sort of broadband speed via satellite my u/l is tragically via dialup and I am lucky to get 30k speed.

Having said that I am quite willing to test the builds on my AMD based 64 bit Kubuntu box if that is required, but not this week. I am going to be in the UK without much other than a laptop.
