I was not aware that this was actually an academic subject, but it got me thinking. It occurs to me that the Philosophy of Science might vary from place to place. So here are my Global variations in the Philosophy of Science.

Europe:- A way to spend Billions proving that something tiny exists.
Africa:- A way to help feed people and bring electricity where there is none.
America:- A way to invent things which already exist, patent them then enter litigation.
Middle East:- A way to blow people up.
Far East:- A way to make things ever tackier out of plastic.
Australia:- A better way to keep beer cold.

See? Africa and Australia.. the only places with any sense.. :P
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I'm actually writing out my course notes right now - if you don't object, I'm going to quote you.
