I haven't gotten to elite since playing on the Apple II/Amiga around 20 years ago... For Oolite, I'm currently around the 3080 mark. Yes, I've been playing heavily.

Twas said tongue in cheek after many hours over the weekend getting about 100 kills.

At this rate it's going to take forever to reach elite unless some nice person decides to design a ship with 4 supercooled military lasers on the front and almost impregnable shields.

You could hack that yourself.
But please realise, that it is considdered cheating to hack a supership to become Elite.

Not in my nature, too much of a traditionalist, any enhancements have to be earned the hard way I've not even downloaded any OXP's yet, and probably won't untill I'm dangerous.

yes. the constrictor mission kicks in at 256 and killing it gives another 256.
