Technically they may or my not be animals. But since they are sold as pets, they are animals by galcop law. That means of course, that they may only be hunted and killed in a huntsmanlike manner. And as we all know, there is only one manner in the whole ooniverse to kill a sweet trumble that is accepted as huntsmanlike.
