I won't mention how badly pedestrians are treated - both by car drivers and cyclists, let alone bloody town planners!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Unfortunately, Tricky, that's too close to the truth to be funny!

Re: Google going to do away with background images
I've been using startpage quite a bit the last few days (I've not given duckduckgo a honest try yet, but I first heard of it when I switched to Mint last April). Thanks for keeping on topic, too. The thread has digressed a little (but tangent has been okay, it's been an interesting discussion - I'm actually a little surprised to hear just how bad traffic's gotten there in the UK)Tichy wrote:ixquick or duckduckgoCommRLock78 wrote:I think I may have to switch search engines - any suggestions

It's unfortunate that as far as the car is concerned, the US is still the gold standard model for a way of life and thus for new urban development, even in Europe, where there are cities about 25 times older than cars are now (133 years since Karl Benz).El Viejo wrote:Unfortunately, Tricky, that's too close to the truth to be funny!

The three dots behind my initial statement were there to indicate that I believe it's an issue of perception and changed attitude as well as of real traffic growth.CommRLock78 wrote:I'm actually a little surprised to hear just how bad traffic's gotten there in the UK)

I'm sure, as is the case in many things . Still, it sounds as though there has been a clear change from when you fellas were younger and now.Commander McLane wrote:The three dots behind my initial statement were there to indicate that I believe it's an issue of perception and changed attitude as well as of real traffic growth.
