Ahh....No problem sir, if you are agreed to void your warranty, we can with a few keystrokes hack the navcom.
For a relatively small fee we can then hook up and jury-rig a camera just above your front laserport.

i.e. Delete the relative entries for viewpoints in the shipdata.plist.
(that is the quick-fix anyhow)
Actually I wasn't complaining about it. It adds a new dimension to the game.
It is generally inadvisable to eject over the target you just bombed.
How interactive are HUDs? Could a HUD contain a scooping guideline that would be displayed to show the relative angle of attack to scoop a piece of cargo?
Dunno how it would work, i'm just thinking aloud...
And now, another fresh session: shooting up an escort, just at the moment it blows up, Oolite exits instantaneously. Console only sez: "pure virtual method called"
(BTW: glad to see the board is back up again w/o losing posts)
I'm running OS X 10.3.9 And it's not the first time this happened, though quite a while ago... I think I remember Ahruman reacting exactly as puzzled as now, heehee
Edit: search showed this happened with 1.52...
BTW: How about an option to put under the avatar listing what OS one runs Oolite? Would that be possible?
SDL is all in straight C too. (It would be very bizarre if it were in C++ exposing a straight C interface, plus I think we'd have notice that the ABI broke us between gcc 3.3 and gcc 4 - I build everything on a 3.3 machine and most distros now use 4 with all the associated libraries built by gcc 4.x. Not that I ever discount bizarreness, after all, I have had to write a replacement GINA for Windows. That was probably the most bizarre experience I've had. Someone at Microsoft has a very sick mind)
