Question about how to interpret the question: Does "where are you from" ask a) "where were you born", b) "which citizenship do you have", or c) "where do you currently live"?

"Where do you currently live?" is the way I'd interpret it..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

This poll has the most bizarre geographical breakdown of the world I have ever seen!

The breakdown of Europe in the weirdest of all. What is, for example, so special about Poland (in terms of [E|Oo]lite, no insult intended to the Polish)? What is the similarity between Italy, Greece and Cyprus - in a such a way that it is different from Spain, Portugal or Turkey?

The largest continent, Asia, is completely missing.

"Mexico/Brazil/Argentina" - is that shorthand for "South and Middle America"?

"Elsewhere" is from Norway over Antarctica to Japan.

It seems the Riedquatians have a very weird idea of the planet Earth.

Maybe it's because the near-mythical 'Old Earth' is such a faint memory...nobody can be sure of anything about it. If anybody knows, it will be Jack so if you see him on your travels, he's the man to ask. 8)

I'm from elsewhere. So is our "current" project lead next door to me (allmost).

UK
Germany
Nordic Countries (Scandinavia, Iceland, Finland)
Russia
Europe
Oceania
Africa
North America
South America
Asia

Would be my take on it after having looked at the download map. But this is a nice bit of fun, and you ask the questions that gives you the answers you want/need.

We don't have a download/view map for ordinary Oolite though - only for trunk, it seems.

Oh, well fair enough. My list is quite possibly far off the mark then.

Does anyone track the number of downloads of Oolite 1.76.1. Just wondering how the numbers work out before and after the Elite: Dangerous campaign.

There was a spike of page views about then, yes - but I don't know about downloads (though Russia seems to be the top downloading country).

Maybe it's all those spammers - they spam us then realise that this is actually quite a good game. 8)

<howls> Brilliant!

Some spammers seem almost human - one I deleted a couple of years ago posted simply 'Please delete me' - I duly obliged, whilst laughing.
