Thank you all for your answers.
And please Shipbuilder, no need to apologize. A very nice rendering of a pod you made here, I even scooped one already in game
Thanks again.

Very nice Shipbuilder, looks like the one R2D2 and C3P0 used in the first star wars movie. Downloaded and will try it out.

I rather like that idea... different speeds for different types of escape pod? The flashy, expensive ones would be faster, of course.
Try scooping one that is spiraling around at high speed and on fire.

Shipbuilder, I happened to catch one of your Escape Pods in a screenshot last night, and I noticed something erm.. a little 'odd'..
I don't know if it's an axis-related problem, or some other little quirk, but it appears to be flying sideways! You might want to investigate..

I think that can occur in the core game's escape pods, Diz - I've certainly seen them do similar.
Unfortunately, I've lost the pic I had of one doing exactly that - from ages ago.

Thanks for the report Diziet Sma.
<scratches head> - I'll take a look at this but I did test it for quite some time prior to release and have also come acreoss them several times in game myself and all seemed ok.
I wonder if it is a case of your download being corrupt in some way ! Maybe it would be worth redownloading.
Has anyone else come across one and if so was it ok ?

This was the reply to my query about it.

Ok, well, if EV has seen core pods do it, I would guess it's a game thing. Hopefully the devs can sort it out.

In the meantime I’ll keep an eye on it just in case.

Ahh.. so the tiny little engine is powerless against the initial vector imparted by the ship it was launched from.. that makes sense. Sorta. As it means if you eject from a ship moving away from the planet at high speed, you're doomed to drift in deep space forever.

That would be kinda fun - but no, if the player ejects, then they find themselves back at a station after - what is it - ten, twenty seconds?

Ten, twenty of perceived time. The actual amount of time which has passed can be somewhat longer than that, depending on how long it takes for someone to retrieve the pod and thaw you out.

Yes, I remember this now you've reminded me - it's one of the unpredictables of ejecting. I need to get out there and just
play more - too much testing, of late.
